The aim of the seminar was to provide information about developments with respect to qualifications at European as well as National level. The aspects to be highlighted included: the need to have all courses specified in terms of Learning Outcomes and to explain the implications and impact of the published Referencing Report on these particular institutions. In addition, the seminar also served to provide training in: how to write and use Learning Outcomes; how the Referencing Report is to be applied to the particular institutions, as well as to how the qualifications' level referencing is to be carried out.
The seminar included both local and foreign speakers. The foreign speaker was Mr Loukas Zahilas who is a Senior Expert in Qualifications and Learning Outcomes at the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP). The seminar was chaired by Dr James Calleja, Chief Executive Malta Qualifications Council who also delivered a presentation on the European Qualifications Framework.
