The Malta Qualifications Council
The Malta Qualifications Council was set up in October 2005 by Legal Notice 347 and members of the Council were appointed by the Minister of Education, Youth and Employment in December 2005.
MQC is the national body in Malta responsible for the development, assessment, certification and accreditation of qualifications other than those in compulsory education and degrees. MQC is responsible to the Minister of Education, Youth and Employment. More

MQC hosts VQTS II National Workshop - 03/02/2009
The Malta Qualifications Council hosted the VQTS II (Vocational Qualification Transfer System) National Workshop on the 3rd February, at the Councils premises in St Lucia. VQTS II is a Leonardo da Vinci Project based on the results of the Leonardo da Vinci project VQTS. The core results of the VQTS project and the Competence Matrix have been transferred to another Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector (electronic/electrical engineering) and to other countries and languages. The VQTS II project focuses on transferring and further elaborating of methods and procedures for the development of a Competence Matrix by using the ideas and principles in the VQTS project. The Malta Qualifications Council is a partner in this project.

EQF Information Meeting - 21-01-09 - 23/01/2009
The MQC held the last in a series of EQF Information meetings on the 21st January 2009. This Information Meeting targeted teachers from the private and public sector as well as from Church Schools. The 2 hour meeting was addressed by Dr James Calleja Chief Executive MQC and Ms Doris Mangion Senior Manager MQC. The meeting focused on the developments regrding the European Qualifications Framework and the work the MQC has been doing on the National Qualifications Framework.

MQC participates in Europe Close to You Fair Jan 09 - 21/01/2009
The Malta Qualifications Council participated in the Europe Close to You Fair which was held in Freedom Square Valletta between the 20th and 24th January. The Malta Qualifications Council informed the public about its various publications with a special focus on the MQRIC services it offers.

3rd Designated Authorities Conference 10-12-08 - 10/12/2008
The Malta Qualifications Council organised the 3rd Designated Authorities Conference. Over 40 participants from various designated authorities attended the conference.
